As part of the event we want to give people hands on education about cider. Among other things, you'll be able to use a
cider press, prun trees, look around the on-site apple tree orchard and learn some history about cider in the South West.
Fun games will be played throughtout the weekend such as sack racing, apple bobbing, wet sponge and stocks and
pin the tail on the donkey.
The enviroment is exceptionally important to us and we want to do all we can to reduce our impact on it.
We will have a full site strategy with regards to waste and recycling. We will only use local
goods, traders, and performers where possible.
Recydrate the West is just about the most easy going event you will ever attend
and we have never had a reported crime on site but that's not to say this won’t happen,
So read on!! In any large event there is a small chance some crime will occur,
by far the most common crime is theft from, or even theft of tents. We do an enormous
amount to keep you safe and secure and there are many stewards and security staff to
help you. You can help yourself by following the advice below, don't let the criminals
disrupt your enjoyment by committing crime against you or your friends.
A crime free event will ensure that there will be one next year!
Our general advice is:
- lock and totally empty your vehicles and empty and leave the glove
compartment open
- only bring what you can afford to lose
- you can buy disposable cameras on site
- you don't need your ipod, we have all the best music
- try to find friends to camp near to you
so you can look out for each others property
- thieves are less likely to strike when someone is there
- make friends with your neighbours so you can look out for one another
- clearly marking all your property will significantly reduce the risk of things being stolen
- bring a cheap tent from a basic camping supplier
- tag your keys with your phone number and a friends address
- don't challenge people looking through tents - report them to
event staff or the Police
- not to challenge a person going through property in a tent
- report all incidents to event staff, they have radios or backup and can contact the Police if necessary
- campsite stewards are there for reporting suspicious or blatant badness, offenders
WILL be expelled from site
- you are far less of a target as a group than on your own, and
- avoid dark areas and take advantage of the extra lighting along main thoroughfares
and in the car parks.
When you leave your tent:
- take any valuables with you or use our sercure lockups
- leave it untidy so there is not an obvious bag to grab quickly, and
- be inventive about where you hide your valuables.
Camping in tents is included in the standard ticket price. You can camp in the
designated camp area which will be sign posted as you enter the event. When
you come to the Pedestrian Gate, you will be advised where to camp. There wil be
plenty of camping space - but if you want to make sure you can camp in the area
of your choice, or with a large group of friends it's best come early.
For a happy campsite site please:
- only camp in designated camping areas
- don't make open fires or use camping stoves inside tents
- tidy up after yourself and bag all your rubbish before you
leave the site
- use bins and recyling facilities that located around the
event
- be courteous to your neigbours
- cause a little noise during the night as possible
- leave walking space between groups of tents and do not obstruct pathways, and

There will be medical services on the site, but you can help yourself and others by being
prepared before you arrive. Bring some over-the-counter remedies for headache,
tooth ache, minor cuts, burns, bruises and sunburn. Ask your local pharmacist for advice and remember to bring any regular
medications you might need.
Sadly we cannot control the weather so be prepared. Bring sun protection, warm clothes,

If you need medical or first aid attention, make your way to the Medical Centre. If you are unable to get there
make contact with a steward, member of sercutiy, or a police office for help. Remember dialing 999

diarrhoea by washing your hands before you eat and after you use a toliet
